What are Protection Modules?
Each CoDefender Protection Module encapsulates a security feature. Anti-keylogging
Protection Modules provide protection from keyloggers. Each Anti-keylogging
Protection Module provides protection for a particular software application,
such as Internet Explorer, which may cover several versions of the software
application. For example, one Internet Explorer Anti-keylogging Protection
Module may provide protection for versions 7.0 to 8.0 of Internet Explorer.
Why Protection Modules?
The CoDefender Extensible Security Architecture enables the delivery of new
security features quickly and efficiently in a safe and secure manner. Security
features are wrapped up in a Protection Module. Using Protection Modules allows
us to develop, test and easily distribute new and updated security features so
that you have the latest protection from threats on the Internet.
Naming Convention
A single Anti-keylogging Protection Module may provide protection for several
versions of a particular software application. Consequently, the Protection
Modules are named according to the following convention:
<Application Name> <Label>
where <Application Name> is the name of the application, such as
"Internet Explorer", and <Label> is a unique label, such as "A".
Therefore, an example of a Protection Module name is "Internet Explorer A".
Another Protection Module that covers a different version of Internet Explorer
may then be named "Internet Explorer B". The names of installed Protection
Modules are shown in the CoDefender Configuration Window.
Anti-keylogging Protection Modules
Anti-keylogging Protection Modules, including Universal Anti-keylogging Protection
Modules, encrypt and scramble the keys you enter into your keyboard so that your
keystrokes are incomprehensible to an attacker.
Quality Assurance and Security
We thoroughly test each Protection Module before it is delivered to you over the
Internet. This allows us to provide and maintain a high quality product as well
as ensuring that you receive security features as soon as they are released.
Furthermore, each Protection Module is digitally signed to provide resistance
against tampering.
